The age and distress on this basketball rim reminds me of the courts I used to play on as a kid. From garage driveways to public parks these were the goals that kept me out of trouble and connected to the game I love. The rim on this particular goal reminded me of a crooked halo and the idea that making a goal sometimes requires making adjustments. No rim is perfect, no goal is perfect, no way of scoring is perfect and it’s with that imperfection that makes the challenge and the game so great.
